Ford employee discount now available to all customers as demand surges in the U.S. auto market. The new strategy, called the “From America for America” program, starts Thursday and will run through June 2.
As tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump spark rising vehicle prices across the board, buyers have rushed to dealerships. Ford is using this opportunity to turn its large domestic inventory into a competitive advantage.
Why Now? Tariffs and Timing
Last week, Trump announced 25% tariffs on all auto imports and a 10% baseline tariff across the board for foreign goods. While vehicles compliant with the USMCA trade agreement remain largely exempt, Ford is still facing price pressures on imported parts.
Despite that, Ford has a strong buffer: 80% of its vehicles sold in the U.S. are built domestically—more than General Motors or Stellantis.

Market Reaction & Outlook
Ford’s stock took a hit alongside GM and Tesla after the tariff news, but some analysts say the automaker is best positioned to weather this trade disruption.
Barclays analysts said Ford’s high domestic production gives it more flexibility as pricing volatility continues.
As car buyers scramble to beat future price hikes, March sales jumped, signaling that Ford’s timing may work in its favor.
