Addressing the Past

Drake Bell Quiet on Set: Bell shared how he feared the investigation into Brian Peck might threaten the success of “Drake & Josh.” Despite the stress, he continued to work, afraid the situation would damage his relationship with Peck.

“When this drops, is Josh going to look at me and be like, ‘Bro, you took our dream away?’” Bell shared. “I was losing my hair. I had these giant scabs on my head.” 

The docuseries, which aired in March 2024, exposed abuse and misconduct in the Nickelodeon environment, with Bell publicly acknowledging his experience for the first time.

Josh Peck’s Reaction

Peck expressed his shock upon learning the full extent of Bell’s trauma. He recalled noticing the sudden disappearance of Brian Peck from the set and how Bell had subtly indicated his disapproval.

“In watching the documentary at 38, as a father, as a grown-up, so much was revealed to me of what you had to go through,” Peck said.

The Nickelodeon Reaction

Nickelodeon issued a statement after the docuseries reaffirming its dedication to upholding a safe environment. According to the network, it looks into every complaint and has put in place measures to keep kids safe on set.
